Sgt. David Osterquist

Previously, Sgt. Osterquist was a police Sgt. & Crisis Intervention Team Coordinator at Sioux Falls Police Department. Currently, he is a Senior Faculty member at the LEAP Midwest, and a Behavior Facilitator at George McGovern Middle school in Minnehaha County, South Dakota.

Recently retired after 24 years of service, Sgt. Osterquist has trained hundreds of police officers in the LEAP approach.

"It's amazing to me when I hear officers who come back from the training and they actually employed the technique, talking to people, how satisfied and happy they are that it works very effectively to de-escalate someone," said Osterquist.

Sgt. Osterquist has conducted LEAP trainings around the USA receiving excellent reviews (available upon request).
